Billing FAQ

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. The Free plan requires only a HolderChat account. Paid plans are billed monthly via Stripe when you choose to upgrade.

What counts as a message?

Each user message sent to your chatbot counts toward your monthly message limit. Bot replies are included.

What is a knowledge rebuild?

A rebuild re-indexes your website or documents after you add or change content. You’ll need a rebuild when you update knowledge sources — not when you change the welcome message or widget appearance.

What is AI content chunking?

AI chunking splits long pages into semantic sections for more accurate answers. It’s included on Starter and above; rebuilds may take longer on large sites.

Can I change or cancel my plan?

Yes. Upgrade anytime from your Dashboard. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period. Cancel anytime — no long-term contracts.

What happens if I exceed my limits?

You’ll be notified in the Dashboard. Message and rebuild limits reset monthly. To continue without interruption, upgrade your plan or add usage credits where available.

Are prices inclusive of VAT?

Prices are shown in EUR. VAT may apply depending on your country and will be calculated at checkout.

Starter pricing is our most popular option for small businesses and solo founders. It increases your page limits, monthly messages, and knowledge rebuilds — plus AI content chunking for more accurate answers on longer pages.

Business pricing suits growing teams that need multiple chatbots, higher message volume, and access to premium AI models like GPT-4o. If you run several brands or support a high-traffic website, Business pricing gives you the headroom to scale without constant upgrades.

Agency pricing is designed for agencies, freelancers, and resellers who manage chatbots for multiple clients. With up to ten chatbots and the highest monthly limits, Agency pricing keeps all your client projects under one HolderChat account.

Paid plans are billed securely via Stripe.
